Christopher Brown, MGySgt, USMC (ret)
Christopher Brown is the CEO and a founding partner of Endurance, an elite organization helping companies with leadership, strategic planning and organizational management. His team members have more than 100 years of combined experience with developing teams and building organizations. His vision and enthusiasm are infectious, which inspires others to overachieve and enjoy life.
Before devoting his time to Endurance, Christopher was a business executive in the defense and government contracting industry, where he developed new business opportunities, increased revenue and installed purpose to management teams. In addition to his business background, Chris served more than 21 years in the Marines Corps and retired as a Master Gunnery Sergeant and senior advisor at the highest levels for recruitment and retention. Christopher possesses a Bachelor Degree in Business Management and is currently completing his Masters in Business Administration.
Jim Cameron, LtCol, USMC (ret)
Lieutenant Colonel Jim “Duke” Cameron. USMC, Retired, is the Chief Operating Officer for Endurance LLC. Commissioned as a Marine Corps Officer in 1983 upon graduation from Penn State University, his first assignment was as an infantry platoon commander with “Suicide Charley”, First Battalion, Seventh Marines. His next command was Fourth Platoon, Rifle Security Company Leeward, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Following GTMO, Jim was designated a Naval Aerial Observer with VMO-2 where he flew over 850 hours in the back seat of OV-10s and earned his Aerial Observer Instructor certificate. After a year at the Amphibious Warfare School in Quantico, VA Jim was assigned to the First Marine Regiment in Camp Pendleton, CA. He completed his first MEU/SOC (Marine Expeditionary Unit / Special Operations Capable) deployment as Bravo Company Commander, First Battalion, Fourth Marines and his second MEU/SOC deployment as the Operations Officer for First Battalion, First Marines.
Frocked to Major, Jim took over Recruiting Station, Portland OR where his station earned the coveted Superior Achiever award for all three of his years in command. Following RS Portland, Jim attended the Korean language program at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA where he graduated with honors. Following graduation, Jim was designated a Foreign Area Officer, attended the Republic of Korea Naval War College, and was assigned to Marine Forces Korea as the Assistant Future Plans Officer. After Command Selection, Jim served as the Seventh Marines Regimental Executive Officer for a year until he assumed command of Second Battalion, Seventh Marines where he deployed with them on Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
In the private sector, Jim worked for Novellus Systems, a semiconductor equipment manufacturer, as their Senior Director of Global Field Service Operations focusing on customer satisfaction and Operational Excellence. Following Novellus, Jim worked at NexPlanar, another semiconductor company in the Chemical Mechanical Planarazation area, as their Vice President of Quality and Customer Satisfaction. In this role, Jim developed NexPlanar’s Quality Management System and earned their registration to the ISO 9001 and 14001 standards. Currently, Jim is the Vice President of Global Quality for CoorsTek, an advanced engineered ceramics manufacturer. His focus is on Quality Assurance, Quality Control, continuous improvement, compliance standards, and maintenance of their Process Control System.
Jim holds a B.S. in Operations Management and Quantitative Business Analysis from Penn State University and is a certified Manager of Quality / Organizational Excellence and Six Sigma Black Belt with the American Society for Quality. Jim also served as a Board Member for the Marines’ Memorial Association in San Francisco, CA.
Chris Stephens is the Executive Vice President and a founding partner of Endurance. Born and raised in Seattle, he attended the University of Washington, where he received a B.A. in Sociology. He and his wife, Robyn, have been married for 11 years and they have four children. Chris considers himself a lifelong learner, is an avid reader and enjoys attending talks and lectures on a variety of subjects. He takes advantage of living in the Issaquah Alps area by hiking, but also enjoys powerlifting, live music and good whiskey with friends.
Chris started his career in the management training program at Enterprise Rent-A-Car. After his training, he went to work in the Navistar dealer network. He was successful in the full-service leasing and parts businesses before being given the opportunity to start up and lead a Navistar Defense dealership in support of the MRAP program. Chris then made the jump to the technology sector by joining the team at Puget Systems, where he served as Vice President of Operations/COO.
